One guy, one rig, and the phone in his pocket.
Hollenbeck Exterior Cleaning is Ryan Hollenbeck. He quotes the job, does the job and answers the text when you have a question about it afterwards.
A borrowed machine and a minivan with the seats out.
In the spring of 2019 Ryan was working for a landscaping crew and watching homeowners pay someone to blast their siding with a pressure washer that was too strong for it. He borrowed a 4 GPM machine from his uncle, pulled the back seats out of a Honda Odyssey, and started washing driveways on his own street in Westerville in the evenings.
The first roof he was asked to clean, he said no, because he didn't know how to do it without wrecking the shingles. He spent that winter learning soft washing properly, and the next spring roofs were most of his calendar.
Seven seasons later it's a trailer rig, a downstream soft-wash system and a waiting list every May. It is still one person doing the work, which is the whole point.
Five rules he doesn't bend.
The quote is in writing before any water comes out.
Itemized by surface, with anything he can't promise written down too. The price on the quote is the price on the invoice.
Pressure only goes where pressure belongs.
Concrete and brick. Siding, roofs, screens and painted wood are soft washed, every time, even when it would be faster not to.
Every roof gets photographed first.
Each slope, before anything is sprayed, so you can see the condition it was in. That report comes to you whether you book or not.
If he wouldn't do it at his mom's house, he won't do it at yours.
That includes talking you out of work you don't need yet. Light streaks can usually wait a year.
Nothing is paid until you've walked it.
If something was missed, it gets fixed while the rig is still in your driveway.
